Sally M. Nelson, age 88, of Marcellus, MI, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017.
She was born September 14, 1929 in Lee County, Lynchburg Township, South Carolina the daughter of Russel E. and Sallie Effie (Harrington) Bainbridge. On August 14, 1949 she married James Martin Nelson and he preceded her in death in 2007.
Sally graduated from Marcellus High School. She loved to travel and spend the winters in Florida. She was known for her delicious pies. Her family meant the world to her and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by three children, Tom (Judy) Nelson of Burr Oak, MI, Kathie Nelson of Kalamazoo and Susan Nelson of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Brian Nelson, Tonia Hubbard and Trista Nelson; three great-grandchildren, Blaine Hubbard, Mackenzie Hubbard and Shelby Lehman and great-great grandchild Owen Hubbard; two brothers, James (Mary) Bainbridge, Tim (Karen) Bainbridge; one sister, Kay Dale and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Nelson, four brothers, John, Bill, Jack and Gene and one sister, Martha.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 1:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 60755 M40, Paw Paw, MI 49079.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in Paw Paw, MI or Three Rivers Home Health Hospice.
