Richard Lowell Gardner, 86 of Jones, Michigan passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Three Rivers, MI.

He was born in Lawton, Michigan on April 19, 1935 the son of Creston and Rose Marie (Warner) Gardner.

On May 21, 1957, in Elkhart, Indiana he married Barbara Ann Daugherty who survives him in death.

Richard volunteered for forty plus years on the fire department, and was a Newberg Constable for ten years.

Richard enjoyed snowmobiles, motorcycles and he owned and raced his own car in Mottville. He also loved to mushroom hunt and go camping.
He loved and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife; Barbara, daughters; Penny (Roger) Knepple of Vandalia, Teresa Perry of Three Rivers, son Warren Gardner of Constantine, 6 grandchildren; Richard Knepple, Eric (Tracy) Knepple, Gerald Haley Jr., Michelle Haley, Janice (Jason) Rhoades, Thelma Gardner; fourteen great grandchildren; brother Bobbie “BJ” Gardner of Lawton; brother in law James Wolfe of Three Rivers.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Genevieve Wolfe, Pauline Mohney, sister in law; Norma Gardner, and brother in law Marshal Mohney.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on April 30, 2022 at 1pm at Poes Cemetery, Newberg Township, with Pastor Mike Owen officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the Newberg Township Fire and Ambulance. Online condolences may be left at www.materralstonfuneralhome.com .
