Marilyn J. Dollar, age 79, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, at home.
Marilyn was born September 25, 1938 the daughter of Harold and Viola (Marsh) Hauschildt. On November 25, 1960 she married Carl G. Dollar in Mapleton Iowa.
In 1960 she moved to Michigan and met the love of her life Carl. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. Joseph. Marilyn worked for several years at St. Joseph Schools as the lunch lady. She was one of the original “soccer moms”, also was very involved with her children’s softball. Later in life she enjoyed her grandchildren, crocheting, baking and word search puzzles.
Surviving are her Loving husband of 57 years Carl, two daughters; Lora (Thomas) Heinz of Benton Harbor and Lisa Lynch of St. Joseph, one son Brian Dollar of Coloma, One Sister; Sharon Hauschildt, of Iowa, Two brothers; Don (Mary) Hauschildt of Florida, Randy (Karen) Hauschildt of Iowa, and five Grandchildren; Thomas, Meghan & Barry Lynch, Andrew and Morgan Dollar. Friend Rosie (Arnold) Hernandez who started as a caregiver and became another daughter to the family. She was preceded in death by three sisters; Janet Kamm, Julie Coffman and Marsha Whitaker and three brothers Royce, Everett and Wayne Hauschildt.
The family will receive friends on Thursday May 10 from 5 to 8pm at the First Baptist Church of St. Joseph, with the funeral services at the First Baptist church on May 11, 2018 at 11:00am with Reverend Marlo Friske officiating. Cremation will take place following the funeral service. Memorial donations may be directed to the First Baptist Church or Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
