David Mullenix, 77 of Three Rivers, Michigan passed away Sunday May 22, 2022, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo with his family by his side.

He was born in Marion, IN on July 26, 1944 the son of Don E. and Betty Louise Clapp.

On May 28, 1977 he married LaRae M. Rooney who survives him in death.

David was a fork lift operator, did installation of auto windshields at Checker Motors, and volunteered for the Marcellus Fire department in the 1980’s.
He was employed by Checker Motors for 31 years he worked on the cab line and was a press operator.

David enjoyed being on his pontoon boat, working on his El Camino and target practicing. He enjoyed visiting with people and had a great sense of humor. He helped out at Corey Lake marina, he loved cutting fire wood, he had a very generous heart and would help anyone. He also was an avid basketball fan.

David is survived by his wife LaRae; son Kent (Ann Marie) Mullenix of IN; two grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, brother; Mike (Margot) Mullenix; sister Tana Craun.

David is preceded in death by his son Eric Mullenix; parents Don and Betty and brother Randy.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Friendly Grille & Tavern, 12355 M-60, Jones MI, 49061 from 2:00-5:00pm on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Memorial donations may be directed to the family to help offset funeral costs. Online condolences may be left at www.materralstonfuneralhome.com .
