Curtis L. Smith

Curtis L. Smith, age 60, of Dowagiac, MI passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at home.
He was born June 16, 1957 in Athens, OH, the son of Rolland Laird and Wanda Jean (Syx) Smith. On September 26, 1981 in Niles, MI he married Debra L. Brown who preceded him in death on March 27, 2017.
Curtis graduated from Marcellus High School in 1975. He enjoyed collecting and restoring classic cars and was a member of the Maverick Comet Car Club.
Surviving is one daughter, Nicole (Luke) Leighton of Clarksville, MI ; two sisters, Sherri Whisler of Constantine and Janice Fager of Marcellus; one brother, John (Suzanne) Smith of Cassopolis, MI and his two dogs, Allie May and Marley Jean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laird and Wanda Smith, one brother, Robert Joseph and one sister Penny Habel and brother in laws Gene Whisler and Gene Fager.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Family. Arrangements were handled by the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus, MI.
