Allan Andrew Seelye, age 72, of Decatur, Michigan passed away Sunday April 11, 2021 surrounded by his family at home.

Allan was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 9, 1948 the son of Andrew Fred Seelye and Theresa Irene (Wolfert) Seelye. On August 19, 1967, in Decatur he married his high school sweetheart Barbara Elane Lehew, who survives him in death.

Allan started working as an Emissions Lab Tech for Ford in 1968, then later moved from Detroit to Kalamazoo to work as a mechanic and service manager at Seeyle Ford. Allan also owned Lawton Auto and worked in the trucking industry as a semi driving instructor at Lansing Community College.

Allan enjoyed his life to the fullest and had a great sense of humor. He has traveled through all of the 48 continental states on motorcycle, and even wrote his own autobiography. Allan spent his entire life living on a lake and enjoyed boating, as well as traveling to the Upper Peninsula with his wife to vacation at their cabin.

Allan is survived by his wife Barbara Elane Seelye; daughter Angela “Angel” Seelye of Marcellus; son Michael (Christine) Seelye of Marcellus; 2 grand children Nicholas (Renee) Seelye of Cassopolis and Shelby (Chad) Earl of Dowagiac; 7 great grandchildren; sister Linda (Randall) Blight of Livonia; and many nieces and nephews.

Allan is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Theresa Seelye; brothers Michael F. Seelye and Donald Seelye; as well as several aunts and uncles.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will take place from 12:00 to 3:00pm on June 19, 2021 at the The Rock at Big Fish Lake. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Marcellus. Online condolences may be left at www.materralstonfuneralhome.com .
